« BlogTactics Introduction Choosing a domain name for your blog part 2 »
The very first thing you need to do to get up and running is to choose a suitable domain name and register it.
I use HWNic.com as they charge just $7.85 not just for the first year, but all subsequent renewals.
Some of the domain registrars I’ve used in the past tend to be cheap for the first year and then when you come to renew the domain in year 2 or 3 they hike up the charge to sting you.
HWNic.com charge the same low fee every year, and all the videos I’ve done for changing nameservers etc. use HWNic.com, so you may find it easy to stick with them if you’re just beginning.
Don’t worry though, it’s always possible to transfer your domain to another registrar in the future if you need to for any reason.
If you’re going to register a .co.uk domain then I’d recommend this registrar instead: -
Choosing a name for your blog is also fairly important as you want something that people can easily remember, but we’ll go through that a bit more in the next post.
see you soon.
